Facilities

We are talking about production equipment, post-production equipment, facility houses, outsourcing, availability.

Production equipment: refers to every kind of equipment that is sued on a film set. Any equipment that is needed to film a shot. Some examples of production equipment are:

  • Lighting - daylight - light stands - generator -filters - gels - diffusion - grip stands - reflectors 

  • Grip equipment. - Camera - Video - Sound 



  • Camera package - Camera - lenses - filters - tripods - Anything what you record on to. (media)
  • Camera movement - Dolly - Track - accessories - 
  • Sound equipment - sound recording unit - Headphones - microphones - mic holders - boom pole - cables - wind shields


  • Post production equipment- covers all the technical things after production has been produced, in other words its the final tweaks to the film after the footage has been shot. This includes: Picture edit, sound edit, visual effects, grading/ colouring, titling and so on. 
  • Picture editing package - AVID media composer - Apple final cut pro - Adobe premier - Sound editing facilities such as Steinberg Nuendo, AVID pro tools and Audacity. 

Facility houses are companies that hire out a variety of equipment for film production.
